I'm back!
I'M BACK!!

Dearest Readers,
I know I've been absent for some time, but let me tell you something: playing single parent is no fun. With my partner being so busy all summer, I've had to pick up a lot of the slack, and that didn't leave me much time to write as I wish I had. It didn't help that with what time I
did
have, I spent working on some other higher priority tasks, like the editing of not one, but two books (Tales from the Winter Veil is done and heading out to backers now (there were some snags with artwork and the formatting that returned on the test copies), and
Exit Wounds, an anthology of short stories, recently finished the backing phase and is now working on final artwork and final formatting to be sent out for a test copy)!
Additionally, I'm writing the next module for that label, and it's going very well, but it's still going. I don't want to give anything away, but I am SUPER excited, as this will be the first product that I've authored to be published. It's a relatively large module with 4 parts (all parts are in the same book; the module just has 4 major sections), and, assuming backers reach the stretch goals, will have a bunch of new monsters, new spells, and new magic items. It will still come with a few new creations of the aforementioned types, but more will be added if stretch goals allow. It's an ambitious project, but one I'm very excited about. It's been a lot of hard work, but I'm a perfectionist with my writing (as you all may be able to tell!), so while parts 1, 2, and 3 are done and part 4 is in the works, I'm not very happy with all of the elements of parts 1-3, nor am I happy with the encounter balancing as of right now. The adventure assumes the PCs begin at level 5, and the module ends with the party at level 16 or so. The ending level is still up in the air a bit, with me trying to decide if it's worth making the final battle something for characters of level 17+. Encounters of sufficient challenge for those levels (basically anyone with potential access to level 9 spells) can be especially difficult to run, let alone balance.
In any case, that's what's going on in my world. Come back Wednesday for a more "traditionally" formatted article on some other aspect of our favorite hobby of TTRPGs!
Until next time, Dear Readers...
